Flat tire on your morning commute? Tread worn to the wear bars? Track day approaching? We don't make you choose between speed and precision.
Repair or Replace? The Decision Chart
Not every flat means new tires. Not every worn tire means replacement. Here's how we decide:
| Scenario | Repairable? | Our Recommendation |
| Nail/screw in tread center | Yes | Patch/plug repair |
| Sidewall puncture | No | Replacement required—safety critical |
| Tread wear at 4/32" | N/A | Replacement recommended—wet weather risk |
| Tread wear at 2/32" | N/A | Replacement required—legal minimum |
| Uneven wear (camber/toe) | N/A | Replacement + alignment correction |
| Age-related cracking | No | Replacement required—dry rot risk |
| Track day preparation | N/A | Performance tire consultation |
Our pledge: We show you the damage. We explain the options. You make the informed decision.

Tire Questions, Answered
For AWD vehicles (Cayenne, Macan, Panamera 4, Taycan), Porsche recommends replacing all four to maintain drivetrain harmony. For RWD models, you can replace pairs (front or rear) if the opposite tire has >6/32" remaining tread.
N-Spec tires are tested and approved by Porsche engineers for specific models. They meet unique standards for ride comfort, noise, handling, and load rating that generic UHP tires may not. Using non-N-Spec tires can affect warranty coverage for suspension and drivetrain components.
Summer performance tires: 15,000-25,000 miles. All-season tires: 30,000-50,000 miles. Track compound tires: 3,000-8,000 miles. Driving style, alignment, and inflation maintenance dramatically affect lifespan.
Yes. Porsche Tire & Wheel Protection covers repair or replacement due to road hazards, including curb damage. Available for purchase with new tire sets.
Porsche does not recommend repairing run-flat tires that have been driven while deflated. The internal structure may be compromised. We inspect and advise, but replacement is often the safe recommendation.
New tires have a release agent from manufacturing. Drive moderately for the first 200 miles to allow the compound to reach optimal grip. Avoid aggressive cornering or maximum braking during this period.
