Charging Your Porsche Taycan at Home

This video provides a quick tutorial on how to charge your new Taycan at home using the included Porsche Mobile Charger.

The video covers:

  • Opening the charge port (0:26): Make sure your Taycan is unlocked, then press the rear of the charge port cover to open it. The charging ports are on both sides towards the front of the vehicle (0:33).
  • Connecting the power cable to the charger (0:54): Select the correct power cable for your Porsche Mobile Charger. Align and insert the connector to the charger’s port with the clip extended halfway, then pull the clip back fully and continue to insert the connector (0:54-1:13).
  • Mounting the charger (1:17): You can mount the charger to the wall near your power outlet using the included mounting bracket (1:17-1:27).
  • Charging options (1:27):
    • Level one charging (1:27): Insert the 120-volt plug into a standard wall outlet. This is best for overnight charging or when time is not a concern (1:27-1:40).
    • Level two charging (1:40): For faster charging, you may need a certified electrician to install a 240-volt outlet at your home (1:40-1:50).
  • Plugging into the vehicle (1:50): Align your charging plug with the vehicle’s charge port and push firmly until you hear a click (1:50-1:55).
  • Charge status indicators (1:55): A pulsing green light means charging is in progress, a solid green light means charging is complete, and a red light indicates an error (1:55-2:06).
  • Monitoring charge status (2:12): You can monitor the charge status through the onboard display or in the myPorsche app (2:12-2:20).
  • Disconnecting the charger (2:28): Unlock the vehicle and press the indicator button to unlock the charging plug. Press the release button on the charging plug handle and pull (2:28-2:37).
  • Storing the charger (2:37): Safely coil the cable and insert the charging plug into the included wall mount, or place the Porsche Mobile Charger back in its storage bag for travel (2:37-2:49).
